A race against the clock to find a qualified project manager for audiovisual engineering projects

In preparation for upcoming projects and to meet the requests of their elite customers, AREACAD CEO Arturo Sanz and his team needed a project manager for audiovisual engineering projects. 

AREACAD faced three challenges in finding the right candidate. First, most skilled professionals who work in the niche industry that AREACAD serves are already employed.

Second, time was of the essence due to the number of projects. Third, traditional recruitment methods such as job boards and staffing agencies proved to be unsuccessful in their search. 

The audiovisual engineering project manager required technical and leadership skills to oversee the facilities management team's projects from conception to completion. The candidate also needed to be a team player, be willing to learn, and continue their professional growth within the company.

“After posting the job offer on job boards and receiving an overwhelming amount of CVs, we saw how time-consuming and inefficient the process was. Most of the candidates came from all types of industries and did not have the experience or technical knowledge we needed. Many expressed their willingness to learn, but we needed someone with the right skills and knowledge to start immediately. We obtained the same results with staffing agencies, going through CVs and selecting candidates was taking too much of our time, and it was an expensive financial investment" explains Arturo Sanz.

Maximizing a campaign's effectiveness and expanding its reach

AREACAD liked the responsiveness and flexibility of Jobilla’s team in adapting to changes, specifically because theater and television professionals responded to the campaign, which was changed promptly to include more engineering profiles.

“We were getting candidates that were project managers from the theater and television industry. I liked how quickly we adjusted the campaign to get a wider reach for engineering project managers instead. How carefully the wording was chosen because the message sent to the candidates needed to engage their curiosity and create an emotional response. Over two weeks, AREACAD's campaign generated 88.946 views and 42 qualified candidates, of which five candidates were contacted, and three qualified candidates made it to the in-person meeting stage. Recruiting with Jobilla took AREACAD 4 weeks in total.
