"Candidates respond — without it feeling like a formal application"

Vitam and Jobilla are working together to fill catering roles across the Netherlands — and the results speak for themselves. “We share the same values and want to find the right people for each role,” says Stefanie Claassen-Thijs, Recruitment Manager at Vitam.

“Just like no two days are the same at Vitam, every campaign we run is tailored to the position and location. The common thread? Low-barrier campaigns that encourage response.”

Catering with a Purpose

Vitam provides responsible, delicious food and drinks at more than 300 on-site restaurants in companies, schools, and healthcare facilities across the country. “We believe that our team members should also feel empowered to choose the work that suits them,” Stefanie explains. “They’re the ones who make the positive difference — and our collaboration with Jobilla reflects that same impact.”

From Active Job Seekers to Passive Talent

Since 2022, Stefanie has led recruitment at Vitam. With a background in marketing, she and two colleagues manage the hiring process from start to finish. She’s enthusiastic about the changes introduced since 2023: “In the past, we ran online ads targeting active job seekers. Now, we’ve expanded to multiple channels — and we’re reaching passive candidates too.”

Tailored Campaigns by Region

“With my marketing experience, I did a target audience analysis — and the insights were eye-opening,” Stefanie says. “Vitam operates nationwide, and regional preferences vary. For example, we say ‘restaurant manager’ in Amsterdam but ‘catering supervisor’ for the same role in the South. In Utrecht, we target the suburbs. In Amsterdam, public transport is a key concern, while mileage reimbursement matters less. This kind of localization makes our campaigns more effective.”

Low-Barrier Recruitment

Jobilla’s approach was a major shift for Stefanie. Thanks to her segmentation work, the campaigns now engage people who aren’t actively job hunting. “We realized many candidates are open to something new — even if they’re currently happy in their job. Jobilla taps into that mindset. Candidates respond to a short quiz instead of a traditional application. If there’s a match, we ask for permission to call. It’s low-pressure — and it works brilliantly.”

Strong Partnership, Real Results

Stefanie works closely with Customer Success Specialist Ka-Wan Hau. “We bring out the best in each other and always aim for top results. For each campaign, we define what we’re truly looking for. Experience isn’t everything — we value curiosity and mindset. For example, in our Vitam Lab, we offer cooking workshops so people can develop the skills they need.”

Unexpected Matches

One of Stefanie’s favorite aspects? Discovering unexpected fits. “A candidate might apply for a catering assistant role, but during the conversation, we learn they ran a coffee bar for years — making them a perfect barista for a nearby location. With over 300 locations, we have the flexibility to match candidates to what suits them best.”

“Jobilla focuses on meaningful connections — not just job titles. That mindset brings results. Of course, some campaigns are more successful than others, and we always evaluate them with our recruitment team.”

Try It For Yourself

“I absolutely recommend Jobilla,” Stefanie concludes. “You don’t just reach active job seekers — you build awareness with broader audiences. Plus, the campaigns are easy to track. You know exactly who viewed, interacted, and responded. It’s definitely worth trying.

Not every manager sees how a lack of new hires can impact the business — or what it will cost long-term. I find that fascinating, and I love working on it. Together with Jobilla, we manage expectations and outcomes.”
